Whenever we have a problem,
who
do we usually turn to?
Perhaps most of us would go to the closest friend or
family member.
Maybe some would seek for a professional advice and some would
probably keep it to themselves.
Very few would complain their problems to the
One wholly..
Although it is good to seek for a
consultation from someone to solve your problem or to help soothe your
heartaches…perhaps it is best for you to be considerate of the person (someone
you want to seek advice from)’s feelings or situations. We do not know what
lies in their hearts. Perhaps the one you’re seeking an advice from has bigger
problems than what you are having. This reminds me of a very good quote from
Mufti Qureishi,
“1) Don’t speak of your strength
in front of the weak.
2) Don’t speak of your good
fortune in front of one who is miserable.
3) Don’t speak of your freedom in
front of a prisoner.
4) Don’t speak of your children
in front of the childless.
5) Don’t speak of your father in
front of an orphan…for their wounds won’t be able to bear more.
6) Don’t dance over the wounds of
others…so that a day does not come that others dance over your wounds.”
….small problems are better than
big problems. Those little problems are like ‘good fortune’ as compared to
bigger problems.
Perhaps this is why Prophet
Muhammad SAW always advised us to always remain silent if we don’t have
anything good to speak. SubhanAllah..
